Steve Boettcher and Lynn Sprangers

Steve Boettcher comes to the College Endowment Association to participate in an interview and discussion with Lynn Sprangers about film making in Milwaukee. Mr. Boettcher, the Founder and President of Boettcher Media Group is an accomplished videographer and producer with more than 20 years' experience. Boettcher began his career as a news photographer at WLUK-TV, Green Bay before joining the news staff at WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee.

His long list of distinguished career accolades includes five Emmy Awards, three New York Film Festival awards, five Telly Awards, four ITVA Video Festival awards and three United Press International awards. Steve's wide range of productions includes network television programs, corporate films, commercials and educational videos and his work has appeared on NBC, PBS, The Discovery Channel, CNN and ESPN.

Lynn Sprangers is a strategic communications professional with executive roles for arts, sports, and nonprofits in the city and the founder of 54 Hands Productions. The company has created documentaries about such topics as Milwaukee’s socialist past and the educational journey of Howard Fuller.

She returns to the College Endowment Association for a conversation with Boettcher about the work of local filmmakers and their productions in and about Milwaukee. They Provide insight into how local filmmakers including 54 Hands are creating documentaries and film about how these local newsmakers such as Bud Selig, Howard Fuller, and Milwaukee Socialist Mayors and are finding national audiences on television and other applications.

Rather than a formal presentation, Sprangers and Boettcher plan a discussion on the process of filmmaking for the local and national markets. Retired news man Mike Gousha and others may join the conversation.
